Located at Capt. J.A.Lovell FHCC, Chicago, IL

Provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation and supervision to Demolition and Asbestos Abatement of Ward 3C in Building 134 of Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center (FHCC). The scope of work included full demolition of all walls, floor surfaces, masonry walls, ceilings, radiators, lights, carpentry, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing in Ward 3C. The existing conditions contain Asbestos Contaminated Materials (ACM) including plumbing fixtures, radiator pipes and transite material insulating radiators, and under slab plumbing pipes.

Removal of ACM required strict compliance with EPA, IEPA, and FHCC Industrial Hygienist.  Part of project effort included building infection control barriers (both temporary and permanent), maintaining negative air, and other dust control measures such as sticky mats and poly hung barriers.  The new work included removal and replacement of architectural window sachs in 30 locations . All work was performed in a professional workmanship like manner. All adjacent disturbed surfaces were repaired to the same quality standards of the existing work and were also matched to the adjacent areas.
